30 Paintings in 30 Days Free Portrait–Winner Announced

Free Portrait–Winner Announced!!!

During the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Art Challenge, I held a drawing for a free portrait painting.  The winner would be announced on October 1, 2015.

Congratulations to Patricia Fuqua Lovett!

The winner of the free portrait painting.

Patricia wanted me to paint a portrait of her mother and father, who have both passed on.  She sent me several black and white photos of them.  She didn’t have any color photos of them available.

She also didn’t have a photo of them together, so she asked if I could paint them together using two separate photos.

I was able to create a pencil sketch of them and sent it to Patricia to review.  Once she made some minor changes, I proceeded to paint the pencil sketch using water mixable oil paints.

I sent the painted picture to Patricia again to let her review it and make any needed changes.

Here is the finished painting of Patricia’s parents.

It was a joy to paint Patricia’s parents, and she was a dream to work with.

Congratulations again, Patricia.  I hope this painting will bring you many years of treasured memories of your parents.  Blessings.

  1. Wow! Fantastic post. Thank you Katrina for offering this gift of art to me and my family. Your work and your post (here) make me feel not just very blessed but like a celebrity (or at least this is how I imagine one would feel, LOL!). Your work is better than great and I hope your “Paintings in 30 Days Art Challenge” was a total success!

Can’t wait to hang my special piece of art!

    • You are so welcomed, Patricia. Thank you for allowing me to capture the essence of your parents in oil. I hope it will be a cherished keepsake for years to come. And you are a celebrity in my eyes. Many blessings to you and your family. Katrina
